Book Covers

BRUCE CHATWIN
Below is a set of similar-style book covers for the travel writer Bruce Chatwin. The brief was to show consistency which I conveyed by using exactly the same image (hand-written type) for the author' name and using the same stlye of image throughout; black ink a watercolour finish. Enjoyable!

BALLAD OF A THIN MAN
One of my favourite works. For this project we were each given a song by the Beatles; mine being "Yer Blues", which referenced Bob Dylan's "Ballad of a Thin Man". Choosing to continue with the latter, my image refers to Mister Jones (the character in the song) and, more importantly, what inspired Dylan as a person and an artist. I mainly used photography, which is unusual for me, but I loved it!

FASHION DIVERGENCE
Here is the first animation I've ever made. It is a quirky colourful animation showing the changing fashions through the ages; from the 50's til now. It was really fun to make and the people's trends, clothes and stereotypes have always interested me. Kind of wish I had involved more background changes, but timing got the better of me! After Effects was the main software used. Overall quite impressed that I was able to move things across a screen!
